How comes you can sell 3dS at this interesting prices?

The trick is the modular approach: not everyone needs a complete detailing package if he needs to draw a beam from time to time. You only buy the parts of the software that you can use, you don't pay for software you don't use. Because of this approach, we can sell to more users, hence our market is bigger. This bigger market results in cheaper prices

You tell us that 3dS appeals to this wide range of users, but can it be adapted to each one of these user's needs?

Every module has a very open structure in many ways. In order to adapt 3dS to your standards, you just need to alter some simple ASCII-files. This way you can change easily:

What do I gain when working in 3D?

You find at any moment on your screen, the result of your project as in reality.
Visual control is imperative in difficult situations where standard solutions cannot be used.
The 3dS-concept offers the advantage that you are able to work very closely to the routines performed in a workshop and consequently your screen joins the manual work: measuring pieces, position, drill, cut, weld, ... .

With the drawing board you were automatically limited to draw in 2D even if all ideas were realised in 3D.
The computer becomes here your main tool in order to see the 'real thing' immediately in 3D and generates automatically all 2D-plans.

We work a lot with our own standard-connections and -plates; is this also possible in 3dS ?

You can personalise 3dS so that your own standard values can be saved and loaded at any moment.

Isn't working in 3D more difficult than in 2D ?

Absolutely not, we are used to imagine everything in 3D so it's far more logic and helpful to see a result grow on your screen as per your ideas. It is more a question of a habit, and your work becomes easier, more pleasant and more productive.
You will notice quickly that working in 3D has less obstacles than working in 2D.

From 2D to 3D makes a big difference for me, how do I handle this problem ?

3dS offers you many possibilities to call your familiar 2D-views.
In particular when you start working with 3dS it is handy to be able to use these facilities.
After a short period you'll notice that working in 3D is far from difficult, you'll get used to the easy way of 3D and you'll stop using the 2D-facilities. It comes completely natural.

I'm changing from a drawingboard to the computer and I obviously go from 2D to 3D, 2 important steps at the time ? How do I manage?

Still the same idea, you think 3D, you work 3D, it's just the habit which needs some adaptation which will be very quickly stimulated by the fact that all your ideas will become reality within no time on your screen.

Is 3dS only suitable for drawing steel structures ?

Certainly not. All functions are chosen and worked out to handle all kinds of structures.

How can I use the drawings generated with 3dS in AutoCAD ?

All drawings made in 3dS, can be handled and modified without problems in AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT.

Can I include schedules, cut- and boltlists in other programs for processing orders, stock, etc ?

All text data is available in ASCII or Excell format and can easily be placed in a spreadsheet, text editor or a data file.
